Eating Out in Tomar

While the house has a well equipped kitchen for those who enjoy cooking, part of the charm of staying in Tomar is exploring its vibrant local food scene. From traditional Portuguese flavours to modern twists and international bites, there’s something to suit every craving. Here are some of our favourite places to eat and relax around town:

Cervejaria do Fernando– A typical Portuguese spot that’s perfect for a traditional Portuguese meal. A favorite among locals and visitors alike.

Mouchão – Nestled by the river in a leafy garden setting, Mouchão serves beautifully presented Portuguese cuisine with a creative touch. Ideal for a slow lunch or a romantic dinner.

Insensato – A contemporary restaurant offering inventive dishes in a modern, elegant space. Their attention to detail and use of fresh, local ingredients make every meal feel special. Vegetarian and healthy options.

Taverna Antiga – For an unique Medieval experience, this themed tavern, around 15 minutes away by car, offers flavours from Medieval times in a cozy, rustic setting.

Hanne Café – A bright and friendly spot for breakfast, brunch, or a light lunch. Think healthy bowls, fresh salads, homemade cakes, and excellent coffee.

Le P’tit Français – A charming little café-bistro bringing French flair to Tomar. Delicious crepes, quiches, and pastries are served with warm hospitality in a relaxed setting.

Pastelaria Tropical – A classic local bakery and café where you can enjoy traditional Portuguese pastries with your morning espresso. Their pastel de nata is a must-try

ADN Bistrot – A stylish, relaxed bistro with seasonal menus and inventive takes on regional ingredients. A lovely place for a leisurely dinner or evening out.

Bela Vista – True to its name, this restaurant offers sweeping views over Tomar alongside traditional dishes. It's especially beautiful at sunset.
