We are Marco and Linda Belonje. Originally from the Netherlands, we left many years ago to explore different parts of the world before eventually falling in love with Portugal and choosing to make it our home.

During our travels through Central Portugal, we discovered a charming historic house in the heart of Tomar. With origins dating back to the 14th century and nestled at the foot of the remarkable Convent of Christ, the house immediately captured our imagination. After a careful renovation, we created **O Templário Sonolento** — “The Sleepy Templar” — inspired by Tomar’s rich Templar heritage, the peaceful atmosphere of the town, and the slower rhythm of life that makes this place so special.

Today, O Templário Sonolento welcomes guests from around the world seeking an authentic and comfortable stay in one of Portugal’s most historic and atmospheric towns. With its central location, historic character, and thoughtful modern comforts, the house has quickly become a favourite among couples, friends, Camino walkers, and travellers exploring Central Portugal.
